Academic Encounters, Second Edition, is a paired-skills series that uses a sustained content approach to teach the essential skills needed for academic study in English. Level 4 Student’s Book: Listening and Speaking – Human Behavior engages students with interviews and academic lectures on compelling topics from psychology and communications, such as stress and the immune system, intelligence testing, friendship, and love.

Students develop key listening and note-taking skills, participate in discussions, conduct interviews, and deliver presentations. A Student DVD provides all academic lectures. The topics align with those in Level 4 Student’s Book: Reading and Writing – Human Behavior, and the two books can be used independently or together for a fully integrated learning experience.
